What type of hardware and software do I need to run XChange?
The good news about XChange is that you don't need special hardware or software downloads to manage your website. XChange is online accessible so there's nothing to install. Simply login via the web with an up-to-date web browser, and you’re up and running. Add pages, upload files, create robust forms, crop images, manage your SEO meta-data... it's that easy.
What skills do I need to use XChange?
While XChange is loaded with tons of robust features, it was designed for users with no programming background at all to easily and conveniently manage their websites. Most of our clients are up and running with just 30 to 60 minutes of training, which is included by the way with all XChange CMS websites. Additionally, XChange provides inline step-by-step instructions when adding new content.
Will I be trained on how to use XChange?
Absolutely. While XChange is incredibly easy to use, we still provide you with a training session to ensure you're up and running in no time.
Do I need to secure my own hosting for an XChange CMS website?
No, not at all. Your monthly fee includes commercial-grade hosting, which would be cost prohibitive for you to personally secure for your individual website. We keep the XChange servers running at optimal performance, and perfectly primed for your site and the XChange platform.
Where and how is my site hosted?
We have a managed server environment that’s dedicated just for our clients. Our servers are backed up nightly, and are on a RAID5 redundancy configuration for maximum stability.
1.) Keycard protocols, biometric scanning protocols and round-the-clock interior and exterior surveillance monitor access to every one of our data centers.
2.) Only authorized data center personnel are granted access credentials to our data centers. No one else can enter the production area of the datacenter without prior clearance and an appropriate escort.
3.) Every data center employee undergoes multiple and thorough background security checks before they're hired.
1.) Every data center's HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) system is N+1 redundant. This ensures that a duplicate system immediately comes online should there be an HVAC system failure.
2.) Every 90 seconds, all the air in data centers are circulated and filtered to remove dust and contaminants.
3.) Advanced fire suppression systems are designed to stop fires from spreading in the unlikely event one should occur.
1.) Should a total utility power outage ever occur, all of our data centers' power systems are designed to run uninterrupted, with the server receiving conditioned UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) power.
2.) UPS power subsystem is N+1 redundant, with instantaneous failover if the primary UPS fails.
3.) If an extended utility power outage occurs, our routinely tested, on-site diesel generators can run indefinitely.
CORE ROUTING EQUIPMENT
1.) Only fully redundant, enterprise-class routing equipment is used in Rackspace data centers.
2.) Fiber carriers enter our data centers at disparate points to guard against service failure.
What are the benefits of managed hosting?
Security and reliability are both our utmost priority. Our servers are monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. XChange clients can rest assured that their websites are hosted with an internationally renowned hosting company with extremely high level security protocols, precision environment HVAC standards, conditioned UPS power redundancies, enterprise-level routing equipment, and a certified network of trained technicians that are second to none.
Is FTP access available for my XChange website?
No, for security purposes FTP (File Transfer Protocol) access cannot be granted. We have many international, financial, and critical business accounts that require high levels of security and reliability. FTP introduces the most risk for the upload of malicious software or code that could be detrimental to our existing client base. XChange allows you to quickly and conveniently upload the files necessary for deploying on your website via the XChange CMS user interface.
Financial & Business Questions
How much does XChange cost?
The monthly fee for XChange starts at just $79.00 per month. Website design and setup fees are priced separately based on the scope of the project. This fee includes (1.) 500MB’s of commercial-grade hosted storage, (2.) The Saas license fee for XChange, (3.) Maintenance support for XChange, and (4.) Access to future updates to the XChange CMS Core. Additional storage can be added to your account at very affordable pricing.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
No. There are no longterm contracts. XChange is billed on a monthly basis, and a 2 week notice in writing is all that’s necessary to cancel your account.
How will I be billed for my monthly fees?
There are two payment options. Most choose to provide a credit card for automatic monthly payments. If this is not an option for your organization, then you may pay by check once a year, for the upcoming year’s hosting and license fees in advance.
How do I know you won’t just close shop one day?
While we understand your question, we assure you that there's nothing to worry about. We're a growing business with a solid reputation. We are heavily invested in our brand and products, and we're already engaged in client partnerships that have an international reach. We’re in this for the long-haul. For those businesses that require additional risk management and protection, a “Source Code Escrow” account (aka “Source Code Repository”) can be setup at the client's expense.
What if I opt to terminate my XChange account someday?
We hope this never happens, and we’d hate to see you go. But our policy is that all content and creative source files, assuming all of your accounts are paid and up-to-date, belong to you the client. XChange however is provided as a service, and is the sole property of LOUD! Creative. Should you decide to terminate your account in the future, then you would retain the right to request all design files, HTML source files, and an export from the XChange CMS database. The time for this request would be billable to you the client, but it should be a reasonable and anticipated cost for those that need it.
